 ABOUT HORNSEA DOG OWNERS

Hornsea Dog Owners Club started in 1990 in response to anti-dog propaganda and the threat of a dog-ban in Hornsea's Hallgarth Park. During that time the club has trained hundreds of dogs in basic obedience, many having been awarded their K.C. Good Citizens bronze, silver and gold medals--one in the eye for the dog-detractors!

Through various activities, most particularly its annual Dog-Show, the club has also established strong links with, and raised money for many dog-charities and sanctuaries, local and national. We liaise very closely with our local vet/police-station/dog-warden and Town Council, who regard us as setting the tone for responsible ownership, and we've helped re-home many a stray or abandoned animal.

PROBLEM DOG? NEED ONE-TO-ONE? (Please also see details below.)

Don't struggle on alone! Ring Elaine Wood, canine behavioural consultant:

01964 563230 or 07982636193 for sympathetic, professional help. Elaine is BIPDT qualified, with over 30 years' experience with all breeds, and is also an expert in the the training and socialisation of rescued dogs.

A 2011 FAREWELL FOR FUN AGILITY!

SADLY, IT'S PROPER AUTUMN, AND FUN AGILITY HAS NOW FINISHED FOR THIS YEAR. PLEASE CHECK THIS SITE FOR DETAILS OF SPRING/SUMMER COURSES 2012.

We run 8-week courses throughout the summer for dogs over a year old, and we've never had a dissatisfied customer yet! All our equipment is joiner-made, and there's something for everyone.

All breeds, large or small, can excel in a non-competitive environment. Agility is also particularly beneficial to hyper-energetic dogs, as well as those of a nervous disposition, because it's confidence-building, as well as tremendous fun....and a great workout for dog and handler!

E-mail the club for further details, or call Elaine : 01964 563230

DOG-SHOW 2011:

Please note that, due to various complications and unforeseen circumstances, we shall not be holding a show this year. We do apologise for any disappointment caused, and hope that we'll be able to resume in the future.

We run courses in Basic Obedience every ten weeks throughout the year, with an option for more advanced training. Our experienced team will also help with any canine problems, so don't struggle on alone! And apart from learning the basics, the major spin-off of any good class is socialisation--we can guarantee you and your dog will have many enjoyable evenings.
Obedience-sessions take place at Catwick Village Hall.. Please book early to avoid disappointment, as we only take 10 dogs per course.
